Glenwood Family Eye Center – an extension of your hometown provider Glacial Ridge Health System – uses the most sophisticated, state of the art technology; the Spectralis OCT Multicolor Scanning Laser. The OCT Scanner produces high resolution imaging; better enabling us to diagnose and treat Glaucoma. This instrument is also crucial in the early detection and management of macular degeneration and other retinal disorders.
An OCT Scanner has the same basic principles of an MRI, but for your eye. It is able to scan and take a picture of your eye; showing us the changes of nerves and tissues. It’s fast, painless, gives us the information immediately, and most patients will not need to be dilated to be examined. With this technology, we are allowed to care for our patients at a much higher level than other clinics in the region.
What makes this technology so unique is the fact that it isn’t readily available at just any eye clinic; Glenwood Family Eye Center is proud to be able to serve Glenwood and the surrounding communities. Our staff Optometrist, Dr. Joseph Schneiderhan and visiting Ophthalmologist, Dr. John Dvorak, who have decades of experience and training, are both ready and excited to give our patients of all ages an eye exam with the OCT Scanner.
