Dr. Dvorak is a highly skilled cataract surgeon and general ophthalmologist, treating a broad range of eye diseases, disorders and injuries. He sees patients at Glenwood Family Eye Center and performs eye procedures at Glacial Ridge Hospital.
Get to Know Dr. John Dvorak
Dr. Dvorak grew up as the youngest of 14 children on a farm southwest of the Twin Cities. It was quite a learning experience. He learned the value of sharing, hard work, and family. He also learned the importance of having access to local health care. Building relationships with patients and caring for their needs and well-being came naturally to him.
Dr. Dvorak completed medical school and his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota. In 2001, he received board certification from American Board of Ophthalmology. He has received recognition as the ‘Top Surgeon’ from Sightpath Medical in 2013 and 2014, and has membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology, Minnesota Medical Association, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
With 19 years of experience in clinical practice and many years teaching other doctors and medical students, Dr. Dvorak has the knowledge and skills few other ophthalmologists can match. Whether he is performing conventional cataract surgery, laser assisted cataract surgery, LASIK, PRK, laser eye surgery, or any other comprehensive ophthalmic surgery his patients have confidence in knowing that they are getting care that is second to none.
Dr. Dvorak understands the importance of knowing the needs of his patients and the value of having health care in your own community. It is his work ethic, dedication to his profession, and skillful care that Dr. Dvorak brings to his patients in our community.
Dr. Dvorak enjoys composing music, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He and his wife of 30 years reside in Sauk Rapids where he spends time with his 16 children and six grandchildren.
